MORE work LESS effort

Have you ever imagined how you could simplify your work day by following a few steps. People at Zen Habits have wrote a list of 13 small things to simplify your workday.

You don’t need to do all of these things — pick just one, and try it. Then try another and see if it works. Experiment to find what works for you.

And enjoy the simple work life.

  • Start early. Going into work early was one of my favorite tricks — it was quiet, before the phones and chatter and meetings started, and I could get a lot of work done in peace. By the time everyone else was getting started, I’d gotten two or three big tasks checked off.

How To Make a Cupboard Serving Tray

Feeling abit below budget or want to have a classic serving tray. Some guys at apartmenttheorapy came up with a detailed instructions how to make one, according to them they werre inspired by;

While visiting a friend who was in the process of gutting her kitchen, we noticed a pile of cabinet doors stacked in the corner. Before leaving, we grabbed a couple for a potential DIY project. After researching some ideas on Crafty Nest, we thought a serving tray would be the perfect transformation for the old door.

Really all you need to tackle this project yourself is the hardware (the repurposed cupboard door and some drawer handles), sandpaper, paint, and a little bit of time on your hands. Beyond that, you’re imagination’s the limit in terms of how you want it to look.

Helpful hints that could make your winter drive easier to deal with …

This may not be a gadgetry post however, with teh coldest winter since records began in the UK,  here are some helpful hints that could make your winters easier to deal with whilst driving…

Keep your headlights clear with car wax!
Just wipe ordinary car wax on your headlights. It contains special water repellents that will prevent that messy mixture from accumulating on your lights – lasts 6 weeks.

Squeak-proof your wipers with rubbing alcohol!
Wipe the wipers with a cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol or ammonia. This one trick can make badly streaking & squeaking wipers change to near perfect silence & clarity.

Ice-proof your windows with vinegar!
Frost on it’s way? Just fill a spray bottle with three parts vinegar to one part water & spritz it on all your windows at night. In the morning, they’ll be clear of icy mess. Vinegar contains acetic acid, which raises the melting point of water—preventing water from freezing!

Prevent car doors from freezing shut with cooking spray!
Spritz cooking oil on the rubber seals around car doors & rub it in with a paper towel. The cooking spray prevents water from melting into the rubber.

Fog-proof your windshield with shaving cream!
Spray some shaving cream on the inside of your windshield & wipe if off with paper towels. Shaving cream has many of the same ingredients found in commercial defoggers.

De-ice your lock in seconds with hand sanitizer!
Just put some hand sanitizer gel on the key & the lock & the problems solved!

Hope these hints help even just one time.

Ikea Lack Table Transformed into a Server Rack

LackRack ImageEverybody loves to spend at Ikea ‘affordable solutions for better living’. Try buying a server rack though, you don’t have a chance. Try going to you local highstreet computer shop, even there it’s quite hard to buy one, of the shelf.

Now, the creative guys at LackRack shows you how you can modify the Lack table into a server rack for only £4.99 and yes only available from Ikea. It can hold a lamp, cup of tea and now a rack server.

If you work in a commercial setting then, naturally, you’ll have commercial server racks. Commercial racks are both overkill in build and price for a home user or a small office with only a few rack devices, this clever hack is a great fit.

The Lack tables are just the right size for a Network switch or rack server to fit in between the legs. All you have to do is screw one on. Over at the wiki of eth0, they have a tutorial for converting your Lack table into a LackRack. Check out the link for more information and additional photos. LackRack – WikiEth0

Time To Importance

Financial-PlanningPlanning before helps in saving time. if you pan something it would take less time to actually do the work. Lets say without planning the job could take 30 minutes but if you plan it would take 10 minutes. Great, but why doesn’t everyone do it? People don’t know about it. They think planning would take longer.

From my life experiences, my teacher drags on about planning an essay in an exam, then writing. Teachers say allot of things and this tip works. Read this article by Harvard Business Review.

Tell us if you plan before you do a job in the comments section below

Some Random Website Ideas

Why Cant The Internet Be a Place For Gadgets?

These are ideas for websites i strolled across a few days ago. I thought i should share them with you.  The are all the modern gadgets that could evolve into huge websites. Why don’t you try making one of these websites.

U-hated

Social networking site which allows you to add your enemies, ex-girlfriends, companies, bands you hate, teams you hate to you profile.. The idea is that we find out who the most hated people are on the net and they get shamed with frontpage status..

Blank Website

I create a completely blank website with no content, no links, nothing on it. I then order reviews and pay for linkbacks to it and see how people react and if they accept/reject the review requests.. thus, i’ll find out who’s a money grabber and who actually cares about their readers, who they link to etc..

Super Teddy

I buy a teddy, then post him to someone in a different country. That person then posts the teddy to another person in another country and so on.. all the time, the teddy is pictured at famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Statue of Liberty etc.. and the pictures and blog entries (more…)
