Google discover 17 year old Windows bug

Google’s security researcher Travis Ormandy discovered the bug were it allows newer versions of Windows to run programs that date from the DOC era.
First appearing in Windows NT 3.1, the vulnerability has been carried over into almost every version of Windows that has appeared since.
Microsoft have confirmed that the vulnerability will be fixed in this months security update where it will also tackle a further 25 loop holes with 5 being rated as ‘CRITICAL’. This is not the first bug to be discovered and won’t be the last.
